Without a flicker, his nares scented that of a canine-like presence. The only rival near at this present time. Flints reversed his cycle and moved him back from Briseis. Orbs looked into her, a gleam of mischief overtaking the sentimental gaze. Cranium tipped and then directed towards the tall grass. Pillars moved him forward, step by step, crown lowered to nip at the blades below.
Without ceasing movement, he continued on nipping here and there. Before long, he was inches from the grass, the scent growing stronger and stronger with every breath. Lacking hesitation, the stag lifted his nape, cranium following. Slipping through the grass, he now saw Allanon. Smirk filled his mug. Well, well, well, what a sight for sore eyes...Slight cackle emitted before he tipped is' crown to him.

A snarl tore from the beast's cheast as he sprang up and back and the equine's greeting. Brute was slightly startled that the nag not only spotted him in the tall grass, but also calmly approached him. The snarl and leap were also part of Allanon's usual over dramatic displays. When all four footpads were once again on solid ground, brute settled on his haunches and wrapped his luxurious tail over his paws. Fierce amber occuli bored into the nag. A smirk split the pointed muzzle and he tilted his head to the side quizzically.
d**n, Zanz, I thought ya woulda been dead by now. No such luck I see. He tipped his muzzle slighlty in respect to the stag. Yer looking well, even if yer still too stupid to be afraid of me. Of course, ya nags have never exactly been the wisest of creatures...
