Paperthins flare wide to drink in the scents of the realm. Earthy optics shift their gaze somewhat nervously about, mimicing the actions of her hyper-active radars. She cannot shake the trepidations that have chained her heart. Every step that drives her deeper into these lands causes the chains of fear and anxiety to constrict around her soul. A heavy sigh forces its way from the velvet maw. All will turn away. Unworthy, unwanted, unfit. Useless and worthless. Who could want us? femme wonders silently to herself. Shaking her tiara slightly, she banishes her dreary thoughts and announces her presence with a piercing hawk-like shriek. Let them judge us for themselves.

The shriek of an unknown object filled his audits. Slightly taken aback, the brute pulled his cranium up from the ripe emerald stalks now filling the lands. Pillars took action almost immediatly, off to find the source of the sound. It did not take long, for a lone mare stood awaiting. He approached slowly, her disposition a mystery. The mare's appearance revealed nothing as well. She seemed slightly shaken, but he did nothing. Vocals rang out towards her, towers placed in the middle of is' crown...
Welcome dam, what is the source of your calling?

Dial turned towards the strange auburn stag, orbs running over every inch of his rugged form appraisingly. Unconsciously, fae rocked back on her quarters, ready to rollback at any moment should this creature mean her ill. Thorns worked double time, one moment sharply pricked, the next instant melted to her skullcap before returning to rapt attention. Pearls ground together nervously, reverberating in her skull. Fae gave a quick, curt flex of her crest and bow of crania in respect to the stag before replying.
G'day M'Lord. Trouble yourself not with our dubbance when it matters not. With luck it may never be known. Thou may refer to us as Stumbling to Bethlehem for it be both our taken name as well as our life's purpose. May we inquire as to your dubbance, M'Lord?

The stag followed her ever repeating signs of confusion or nervousness. He watched her muscles bunch as his did when he was ready to leave. Towers pricked forward, kissers lightly parted. Cranium tipped in respect for her when he spoke:
It is a pleasure to have you in my lands. I am Zanzibar, leader of these parts.

Silken ebony cords lightly slapped obsidian haunches as she uninterestedly performed the greeting rituals femme learned by rote long ago. A dip of the tiara...mysterious, fleeting half smile that left the perceiver wondering what it meant...an unemotional and often criptic response that causes curious stags to crave the solution to the riddle that is an exotic minx.
Zanzibar is it? Well M'Lord, thou should not call a pleasure what one is just becoming aquainted yet. even the berries with the most succulent appearance can leave a bitter aftertaste when allowed to stagnate on thy palate. Before the Red Eye sets thou may rethink the amount of pleasure we have brought unto thy lands.

Oh the sarcasm. His mind was screaming with impatience. He rolled his eyes and stomped his fore as he pleased, but he dare not do it in front of her. His harks perked as he replied witha new tone...
Well, my pleasure may be different than yours when a new mare stumbles upon my lands. However, I react to attitude, not words. You may continue on with your methods, but they will just be discarded with me.

Can't drive him off. Won't run any further, tired of wandering. Final chance, last hope. Not young anymore. Running out of chances. Swallow pride and stay with him or remain arrogant and alone for life?minx mused to herself. Bright espresso coloured orbs clouded over and focused on a distant invisible point as this internal monologue played. Femme returned to reality with a squeal and a sharp strike of a foreflint. Delicate velvet kissers peeled back in a menacing grin that showed off gleaming ivories. Her voice was strained taut as a drawn bowstring from trying to hold back.
Dreadfully sorry if our words offend. We forget that what was considered proper etiquette and standard protocol in our birthplace is not always acceptable elsewhere.

Brute noticed her in thought, the glazing of her orbs, and the pawing she returned. Hark flickered forward once more when her unknown squeal rang through his bod.
And why is it your signature remark is a dying squeal. May I cut this session short, by inviting you to join my herd? I realize you have your own ways of thinking, but perhaps it may occur to you that a group is better than the wolf lurking about.

Towers melted against femmora's scalp like wax liquifying in flames. Ivories ground as though worrying at an imaginary bit. A dying squeal? Thou would do well to show a lady proper respect and not criticize our mannerisms. It is quite crude and ungentlemanly, not at all befitting the stature of a king.
Once her displeasure was made known, minx softened slightly. Twin horns grew as auds unglued from her cranium. A crooked, rougueish grin flashed across her muzzle. Though the wolves bother us not, the prospect of lonliness does not sit well with us. If you will have us, we would be quite honored to enter thy harem, though it remains to be seen how much of a pleasure it shall be. I am ready whenever you wish to escort us to thy kingdom. Femme's last phrase was uncoloured by sarcasm or anger, allowing the stag to hear for the first time a gentle voice as sweet as the spring breeze through the aspen.

A smirk lifted his mug, then dissapeared as fast as it had come. Her devilish tone turning to a a sweet harmonic note. Once more, he allowed himself to answer her.
I would be more than happy if you would accompany me to my herd. There you will meet the other band members. Glancing at her once more, he whirled on his heels, setting an easy lope as their stride for home. every so often he glanced back to check her status.
