Tala padded in silently, keeping her head low, but yet holding herself royally. Her tail was curved slightly, and raised. She was a proud female, but not proud to stupidity. She growled low in her throat, thinking of the past events. She grinned darkly, and raised her head, and body to its fullest hight, Rann was dead. Her eyes glittered at the thought, she could stop hiding her appearance. She was Tala, daughter of Falln and Rainnak. She had no reason to stoop now, to any wolf. She demanded respect, and got it most of the time. She set to work cleaning her muddy pelt. She rolled, and licked, and scratched at the dirt. Finally when that had little avail, she happily hopped in the lake beside her. She let her coat soak, then rubbed herself against rocks, and branches in the water, her paws helped too. She grinned at all the dirt flowing away from her. She looked down at her fur, and growled in disgust, still dirt. She worked faster, and her tung helped too. About ten minuets later, she was done, and her coat shimmered, and gleamed. She got out of the water, and shook herself, her fur instantly dried. She groomed it, putting every little hair in position. She was finally ready to present herself.

Splashing from the nearby lake roused the great black thug from where he lounged beneath the shadow of a maple. Its violet leaves filtered out most of the harsh midday sun and left his onyx coat dappled with patches of claret light. He lay half hidden on the slight rise over the pond, chin rested on massive paws as he watched the newcomer intently.
Quite brash, isn’t she? Parading about like a queen before her court instead of the vagrant roving across foreign lands. Now is as good a time as any to put this princess in her place, he thought to himself.
Stretching slowly, he rose and set off down the rise towards the stranger at an easy lope. He slowed to approach the femme at a stiff-legged walk, with head, tail and body strained to levitate to their utmost limits. Canines glowed from where they peeped out from beneath black lips and hackles bristled slightly in annoyance.
Hello, princess. I am Allanon, Lord of these lands. Tell me, who are you and what makes you think you have the right to strut around like a puffed-up peathingy, behaving as though you were master of this terra instead of a trespasser?

The vixen spared him a cold glance, before returning to her grooming. She flicked her tail slightly, a amused, yet annoyed gesture. Her eyes glitered alittle, a thought passed through her mind, she would test him. . .
My name is not princess, dear lord. You must ask for my name to get it.
she said, in a voice so sweet, yet was laden with poison. She ignored his question, she was trying to get him to lose his temper. If he doesn't, she may consider giving more of her attention. She continued her unnecessary grooming of her sparkling white pelt. It was ruffled slightly in the wind, she glared at her coat, as if it was it's fault that it hadn't been clean for those years.

The tip of his tail flicked quickly once before becoming still once more. A faint glitter of anger flared in his spheres and disappeared.
Look, you’re gorgeous. Now will you quit grooming long enough to answer me? As for your name, that matters not to me if you intend to parade about behaving as though anyone who meets you is supposed to bow down and worship you. Even the goddess Aphrodite had to kneel to Zeus.
Allanon paused in his speech. He had begun in a tense and sarcastic voice but ended with one that was a near snarl of contempt. Taking a deep breath that rattled in his chest, he attempted to regain his composure. He despised losing his temper when attempting to make a first impression. It was better for strangers to learn later what he was actually like. Heaving a heavy sigh, he began again in a tone that was a bit kinder and softer.
My apologies. I do not mean to get terse with you. I do not demand to know anything about you, but rather I request to hear your dubbance. Would you be so kind as to honor my request, vixen?

She paused her grooming, anger mixed with triumph. She turned to him, searching his eyes with her peircing ones. They searched him, seeing if there was a hint of lieing in them. She grinned to herself of a memory that poped into her mind. She kept her searching gaze as she said this
I do not request for any to bow down to me, only the respect I deserve. As for my name, I am called. . . the vixen paused, not sure if he was worthy, or if she trusted him. She would reveal it anyway. Hoping he was not a follower on Rann.
Most call me Tala. she almost spat, most yes. Rann called her drudge, and his pack called her, dirty beaut. She hatted both of them, and would not tollerate them. She did demand respect, and was a hard one to rule over. She was the best thing that ever happened to you, if you were on her good side. One thing to know about Tala, when she was talking in her sweet, intricate voice, she was at her worst.

Allanon caught a glimpse of what may have been smug satisfaction in the vixen's optics, but couldn't be sure. He chose to ignore it, focusing instead on what he should say to this creature. He would have to hide his serpent's heart beneath his deceitful silver tongue.
Tala, is it? An elegant name for an elegant rose.
Allanon paused, making a deep bow before rising and continuing. His speech was articulate, each word painstakingly chosen and delivered clearly.
M'Lady, forgive me for my insolence. My previous actions were unbefiting of a welcoming host. I should have shown you the respect deserving of a deity instead of a drudge from the beginning. Tell me what I must do to to restore your favor in me. I am willing to make myself your humble servant.

Tala smirked, she was reeling him in. She cooled her face down, to an expressionless nothingness. She look at him, searching his brown eyes. She unfocused her eyes. No looking at him, but still seeing him. A thing she used when she didn't want other to read her thoughts through her eyes. She waved her tail slowly, pondering what he said.
What if I were to tell you, that I don't think you are telling he truth. What if I told you that I thought you didn't think my name was elegant, like a rose, and neither was I. By the way, my name means 'stalking wolf'. I don't trust easily, and what makes you think you are different.
She was a wolf that tested others, she was doing that act once again. She looked up (she is s bit short) at hi, with smug satisfaction.

Allanon ground his fangs absently as he mulled over what to tell this creature. Was complete honesty the way to go, or should he continue to sugar-coat lies to make them go down easier? His gaze fixed on a branch behind Tala. It made it easier to speak when he wasn't focusing on the reaction.
Perhaps elegant was the wrong turn of phrase for your name, but you cannot deny that it has a simplicity to it. It rolls well from the tongue and leaves a pleasant taste in the mouth, without being harsh on the ears. As for you being a rose, from what I know of you, that is a fairly accurate description. You are beautiful require a great deal of maintenance to preserve that beauty. Also, you have thorns, same as any rose. Thus far I have been lucky enough not to feel your prick.
Allanon paused to stretch upon the ground. He rested his chin on his massive paws and fixed his fierce gaze on a nearby leaf, as if it were the most interesting thing in the world. Radar remained directed on Tala, the only sign that he was even paying any further attention to her.
Trust. One word, just one little word, and yet it carries with it your heart, soul, and life. To say you trust means that you would put your life in another's hands and know that they will protect your life as their own. You know another will be there when you call and you would do the same for them. You become twin stars, your lives revolving around one another. Trust is deeper than friendship, deeper than blood bonds, deeper than love. It transcends all, is at the root of all. Why must so many throw around the word "trust"? Why must so many betray it... betray me? I thought you would always be there, but you weren't. You turned on me, inflicted wounds on my heart that were hundreds of times worse than those on my hide, wounds that will never heal. Why?
Tala, you wish to know why you should trust me, what makes me different. I know what it is like to have someone so close that they could be your shadow, only to have them turn on you. I know the despair that comes with betrayal. Know that I would never turn on anyone under my protection unless they attacked me first or endangered others in my care. I don't care if you believe me now or not, but this is the truth. Trust will come in time and I am quite willing to wait as long as it takes.
Allanon grew silent, staring at the earth without seeing. His speech had stirred up memories that now played behind his vision. Tala was forgotten in the moment, the reality in which she resided not as important as the phantoms of the past that held Allanon captive.

Tala looked at him in speechless honor. She trusted. Someplace deep in her heart wanted to trust, wanted to believe. She hadn't for so long, she wanted to quench her thirst for it. Her long for trust. She needed now, at this crucial time, now. She let the words of the wolf sink into her. A memory was stirred from it's place of long sleep. Her father. She felt a odd sensation, a moment worthy of a ballad.
The stubborn vixen was somehow converted by his speech. She had a longing to howl sorrowfully to the sky. To sing of mourning, of hope, of soul peace. She lifted her silvery maw toward the heavens. Her jaws parted, and she sang. Her high voice rose over the land, like a mist drawing in all that wander into it.
The song chilled, yet fired the heart, it made other want to twine their voices into the song. She continued, it rose and fell, her voice, yet stayed steady in it's drama. Grasping all who have ears to listen to it. It made you want to cry, but it would give you peace in your soul, soul peace. It changed ever so slightly, to a song close to a cry for passed love ones. It changed again, to a peaceful, almost monotonous song. We see mountains grow from hills, And trees grow tall. We feel years go on, Only to grow old and fall. Our howls echo, Through the tall trees. They bounce off the mountains, and are carried on the breeze. We live we love, But now our time has come, To fall, to fall. The dark night whispers to us, We can't ignore. But now our time has come, to fall. 'Trust us' it calls, A voice so steady, and so strong, We step out onto thin ice of doubt. We rejoice! We did not fall! We live longer, The hope of living for the woods, Has brought us back. . .

[ooc: sorry to take so long to respond. school got hectic and I was barely ever online. My sincerest apologies]
Audits pricked sharp when the lupa began her ballad. He raised his head, golden eyes watching her with wonder. As he listened to the melody, he felt something tug at his soul. He wanted to join in the song, to sing of joy and pain and love and loss, but he respectfully remained silent. Instead, he listened to her beautiful voice. He swore he could have seen the golden notes of her song float through the air to drape on the tree limbs. The whole hollow reverberated with her voice, something that had not happened since time untold. When she fell silent once more, Allanon was at a complete loss for words. He was only capable of staring at her.

Tala bowed her ivory head. The sighlence around was thick after the song. She sighed quietly, and looked at Allanon. She c.ocked her head to the side as she saw him staring. She almost blushed. Then standing up, trotted over to him.
"Were does your pack reside?"
She asked. Her pelt shimmering in the new moonlight. She studdied him once more, then turned her eyes away.
((its ok, i have to go eat, sory for the short post))

A smile creased Allanon's face when he perceived a faint blush color the vixen's features.
Most of these lands belong to my pack since there are no others to divide it amongst. But... are you requesting to join us, to become part of my pack?
When she looked away, he rose slowly to his feet and padded noislessly over to her. Brute bowed his head to tenderly nuzzle her neck. Voice muffled by the thick ruff of silvery fur around her neck, he whispered gently to her.
Ask and you shall receive. Say that you will join us. Please.

Tala looked at him as he lay his maw in her fur. She prickled slightly, a normal response. Her fur smoothed, wonderfully. She sighed slightly at the males touch.
"Yes I shall join."
She murmured. Her voice was cool, and as silver as her coat. She was going to accept his offer, he had asked her, almost pleadingly. She would like this new life, for that what it was. She hoped Allanon would stay true to his word. She would stay true to hers, if he did. She thought theses things as they sat there.

When she said yes, Allanon's heart nearly skipped a beat.
What is wrong with me? Why am I behaving like a love-struck pup? She is no different than the others who have come. Why does she captivate me so? She is an enchantress and I am caught in her siren's spell. That must be it. I can't allow her to render me helpless and stupid, but... Oh how my heart moans for companionship, for love. Will she ever feel anything for me?
These thoughts swirled haphazardly through Allanon's mind for several moments before he banished them in favor of the present. He heaved a happy sigh, fighting back a sneeze as Tala's long fur tickled his snout.
"I am delighted that you deem me worthy enough to reside with. Come, Tala, your future awaits.
With that, Allanon broke away from Tala and headed at an easy jog towards where the rest of the pack was.

Tala beamed slightly as he led on. She briskly jogged to him, catching up with him. She placed herself at his right side. She thought many things, a strange pulling feeling at her heart. One she had not felt in a long time. She sighed to herself, as the feeling enfolded her. Love. She tried to shake it. He could be another traitor, but she hoped with her heart that he wasn't. It seemed as if they were the only ones on the face of the earth, that mattered at least. She felt like her feet could fly. Her steps were light, and bouncy.
