She snarled, after she sniffed at the air attempting to decide whether or not to follow the four scents that wafted through the air. Summer time, how lovely. Thankfully the sky was beginning to darken and deep colors of pinks and oranges accented the clouds in the gentle azure sky. Eyes rolling she slunk through the tall jade and gold grass, paws gripping at the earth below her. Patience Seika... patience... It was her conscience talking, and she snapped right back. She didn't take that attitude from others, hell if she'd take it from herself.
A dark pelt and cool black eyes gave her an air of mystery, and a fearless appearance. The bytch had traveled a long ways to get here, and she wouldn't let anyone push her along into anything. Stupid wolves...
Her eyes slanted and she glared up at the sky. God d**n summer... stupid heat... Only the soft twittering of summer birds giving way to the night interupted the silence that surrounded her.

[meh...ok, I think I am really off my game lately because I have stared at this post every night since it was written and I still have nothing! Since my muse has runneth away, you will have to make due with what I can dredge up]
The dying heat of the setting sun kicked up a light wind that danced across the land. The playful breeze ruffled Allanon's coat as it ran its fingers through his fur. A calm feeling hung in the air, a sense of life winding down. The calm feeling had infected the brute as well. Pads automatically bore him down the trail he had taken countless times before. His senses dulled by a sense of ease, he never noticed the shred of midnight that skulked through the high grass.

The night sky was beginning to surround everything as the atmosphere became slightly cooler and her oculi detected the transformation of sunset into deep azure hues. A dark raven pelt would not give her away in the night, it would only help to conceal her.
Eyes turned to slits as she sniffed at the air. Seika glared off into nothingness when her nose detected what she could not see. A male. It was probably the alpha going over his territory to make sure all was well, or perhaps her own scent had given her away. Skulking through the grass was not a challenge as the black femme waded through lush green heading toward the smell of another.
Peering toward him she only glared. He appeared very strong and held a commanding presence and aura. Eyes passed across where she hid, but as far as she detected they noticed nothing. For the moment she was safe. God d**ned wolf... Her hackles were raised just slightly, teeth bared, ready to attack or defend herself it necessary.

The moon began to rise and the stars poked out casting the world in a blue hue. There was just one thing Gevaudan hated about fields, in a field one with midnight fur such as his becomes a beacon for his location. Only in the caves and thickest of woods could one such as him hide.

[About bloody time! I was beginning to wonder if you even wuved us anymore. Welcome back. Now Stay girl!]
The rising moon cast its pallid light over the hushed realm, bathing it in a palette of silvers and blues. Long, misshapen shadows chased each other across this stylized world of dark and light. As Allanon was walking, he thought he heard an echoing step that was out of time with his own footfalls or those of his companions. The brute paused, checking to see if the echo was real or imagined. There was the faintest sound of claws scraping earth and the whisper of meadow grass. Brilliant ocher occuli scanned the meadow. The tall grass was parted slightly to reveal an inky shadow darker than the gloom surrounding it. There was no way to tell if the shade was friend or foe, so he decided not to wait for the creature to make the first move. Hackles prickled to attention along his spine and he bellowed at the creature in a commanding tone. ”Enough of you stealing through the shadows like a thief. Show yourself!”

Gevaudan heard Allanon's shout. He padded his way over to where Allanon had wandered off to. Gevaudan could immediately smell someone new and it only took him a second to locate the creature. Peculiarly it shared his for far be it was much more diminutive then him. He would wait to see what happened. Gevaudan might finally find out if Allanon was worth his time. (how dare you steal my detection scheme)

Charcoal toned orbs flashed with furious thoughts aimed at herself as she slitted them in anger. There was nothing else to do but show herself, Seika wasn't in the mood for a fight tonight, or a chase for that matter.
So, though she opposed revealing her whereaboouts to anyone she stepped out from the tall thick emerald growth that had previously hidden her. Her eyes washed over the scene before her taking in both males, one much larger than the other but curiously holding back for the other. What an... interesting situation we've gotten ourselves into. Her fangs were still bared, preparation if a fight would indeed occur. The dark wolf said nothing, waiting for one or both of the other two to speak. Hell if she'd comply to unspoken wishes. As of now to her, they were just wasting valuable time that could have been spent doing something of use.

[How can I steal when you actually replied to Faded before me? You had your chance and didn’t take it.]
Allanon ran an appraising eye over the shadowy dame that stood before him. Her eyes were impenetrable black pools that revealed nothing of her inner thoughts. Pale beams of moonlight struck her optics and made them dance with an ethereal jade glow, but it did nothing to shed light on the enigma of the stranger. Only her bared fangs gave any indication that the dame was even capable of displaying emotion. Allanon tried to make his own face a blank mask so that this one who was so adept at hiding emotions couldn’t interpret his. He made his voice as even as possible while still maintaining a hard, commanding edge to it. “Who are you? Why do you see fit to trespass on in my territory, or worse, trail us.” Quick and to the point. He was in no mood to waste time with intruders. He had had enough surprises for one day and his patience was at its end.

She took note of the fact that he did not seem to pose as a threat, and stilled herself. It only took a moment for the femme to make a decision as to whether or not she would grace him with a reply. It wouldn't necessarily hurt. After all, replying wasn't showing him respect or giving him the pleasure or seeing her emotions. "Seika. I'm alone. Wasn't trailing. Wanderer."
If he would be short and to the point she'd make her answers blunt as well.

[Your Master hath returned! Now bow before me, pitiful mortals, lest I call down upon you the wrath of the cheepies! lol! To think, I actually missed this... By the way, love the avatar. Squall is freakin' awesome!]
This Seika was obviously a femme of few words. He should have expected as much. She appeared to reveal only as much as the situation mandated, both in word and, at least thus far, in deed. Allanon's tail twitched briefly in annoyance before it became immobile once more. "Fine, you weren't trailing, but you still intruded. You have yet to explain why. 'Wanderer' won't cut it. As a wanderer you would have had no problem wandering around the edges of my domain." He wanted to waste as little breath on this she-wolf as possible since she seemed to be of like mind, yet he still had unanswered questions that begged solutions. Perhaps she would supply more complete answers this time. Allanon could not help but wonder what the silent Gevaudan thought of Seika.

She held back the urge to growl her discomfort at being questioned as she was. Though, she did suppose it was in some manner her fault seeing as she had trespassed on the territory that his pack so gracefully seemed to prowl. Then again his pack did not seem so large as to need such a large expanse of land. She had not scented them upon every rock, nor had she sniffed the air each moment to detect the hint of a smell. Ah well, it was not a matter so grave as to give her stress.
Her visage was stony still, body not betraying her with a single twitch or soft movement other than that of her breath expanding and being puffed out of her lungs. Then she blinked and spoke. "There were no dominant scents upon the wind. A wanderer doth wander where her paws do carry."

Gevaudan watched the exchange with dull interest. At the novel one's latest display of arrogance he could no longer keep silent.
The one who wanders without aim is doomed to wander until claimed.
He said this calmly but one such as him is so large that the voice with comes fourth is a low roar that rolls out to all.

[Um, Faded, darlin'? what are you doing? You edit people's posts (I assume for grammar/spelling purposes?), yet you don't post yourself. tsk, tsk. one shouldn't criticize the work of others when one does no work themselves.
That was Allanon with the daily dose of admin wisdom. Now to Zanzi for the weather report... Gah, I am so bloody bored.]
Allanon could not help but harken to the booming voice of Gevaudan. The pretty rhyme caused him to ponder for the first time whether this femme ought to be invited into his pack. Her temperment was far from ideal and he didn't fancy taking the time to retrain the arrogant dame. Still, a pack as small as his could always use more able bodies, but would her attitude cause a rift in the pack? Finding himself completely indecisive, he looked to Gevaudan for guidance. Had Faded, or even the boistrous Aleshanee, been present he would have also asked their opinions. However, the two females had yet to make an appearance. Eyes still locked on the stranger, Allanon smirked slightly as he addressed the monstrous brute.
"Tell me then, what would have me do with our little wanderer?"

Ah, she got it now. They viewed her as arrogant, however she really was not. Seika eyed them warily, wondering to herself about how she must come off to others with her emotionless and almost callous demeanor. Either way, it was their choice as to how they could take it.
Her tail twitched just slightly behind her, then stilled as she waited to hear what the large black wolf would say.
Quickly her eyes flashed between the two, and then to a patch of parting grass behind the two. The figure emerging had been so silent that had she not spotted the movement it would have been a shock to see it emerge. Lo and behold, it was Faded.
The fem padded up to Allanon's side, nodding her head gracefully in respect of the alpha male, before staring down at Seika. Her eyes were of a fierce green and shone in the moonlight glaring down at them. The silver patches in her coat looked as though they were made of the light as well, though truthfully they were only fur. "Does she even deem this amount of courtesy Allanon?" The bytch questioned lightly, testing at the air to get a better scent of the outsider. She was new to the area, her fur still smelt of elsewhere. Elsewhere was a rather large place after all, though Seika smelt distinctly of pine needles and wild flowers; though an odd combination, it proved her wanderer's status.
The other she wolf just stared at her coolly, eyes displaying nothing, though a slight growl rumbled and died almost instantly in her throat.

Faded's sudden appearance at Allanon's side caught him by surprise, though he did his best to hide all traces of his shock. His ears flicked back once in Faded's direction before shifting once more to Seika. The brute gave a small smile and dipped his head in greeting to the femme.
"No, perhaps not, but I am willing to grant a measure of courtesy when she will not. It causes me no ill to remain civil, at least until her fate is decided."
